The PaLMS Service Directory is designed to help you manage these challenges. Our Service Directory lists over 1,100 of our most commonly requested tests and services. It has been designed to assist you quickly locate the correct test information, be it specimen collection and transport, or guidelines on interpretation. The PaLMS Service Directory is also available in hardcopy by contacting our Service Centre. PaLMS offers you a single solution to all your laboratory medicine needs. We are not only a laboratory and a pathology service; we offer seamless integration into a comprehensive professional and consultative service. We have unrivalled depth and expertise with some 50 consultants, a third of whom are of professorial status, and all of whom are active in teaching and research. PaLMS is committed to provide you with tests of uncompromising quality. We believe in leading by example, and seek to share our expertise with and assist other pathology services and consultants. PaLMS consultants operate, or are on the advisory Boards, of the majority of Laboratory Quality Assurance programs in Australia. We have invested heavily in cutting-edge technology to provide you with state-of-the-art laboratory services. Partnerships with key suppliers see us accessing new-generation equipment before its public release, allowing us to bring new services to you first. Our Laboratory Information System is unlike any other you may have used before. Over coming months, through our computer system you will be able to look down the microscope together with our pathologists and to view our instrument printouts together with our technologists, all from the patient bedside or the comfort of your own rooms. Key journal references and relevant publications can be attached to your reports, and urgently needed results can be accessed from your desk or laptop computer, or transmitted on the move by fax, email and even by digital phone messaging. PaLMS is here to help you, 24 hours a day.
